My visit to North West Coast of US, has been quite fascinating so far. With weather being freezing cold out here, walking on the street is rather very difficult. This pushed me to rent a car here and first time i went on doing something which i had never done in US.
From AVIS CAR RENTAL i took a CHEVY CRUZ, a mid size car. A much bigger car compared to the one i drive back in INDIA. A left hand drive, automated car with GPS is what was offered to me.
First time, i went on to drive on the roads on Bellevue, with a pinch of fear in the mind. It is not that easy to switch to a disciplined driving from a carefree driving style that I'm used to.
Every morning, i wake up pretty early and just go on for a drive. With traffic being less in the early hours, it is giving me more and more confidence to drive in the city of Bellevue. Today, 06 of December 2011, i came to office by car. I'm feeling so happy and relaxed that I've done something, even though a small thing, which i had not done in my previous two visits to US.
Simple thumb rules which are being followed by me here are;
If you wanna go straight, be on the middle lane
If you wanna take right, be on the right lane.
And finally to take a left, you should be on the left lane.
So far it has worked well (touch wood). I'm hoping that it would work well, through my 2 week stay in Bellevue.
Again, always remember to KEEP RIGHT!!!
